As human beings, we tend to have this need for approval. A need for assurance that we're doing good at this whole life thing.
Now, I have always wanted a way in which to ensure that I, as a human being, am doing something right and then one day, a friend of mine mentioned something I couldn't stop thinking about.
She said that she kept a jar on her desk where she kept all of the good things she'd do, things she called achievements. Whether it is smiling at a stranger or doing something she found difficult to do.
She'd write them down and put them in said jar and it made her feel like a good person.
I couldn't stop thinking about that after she said it.
And I finally got around to making one. Who knew a piece of paper could make such a difference?
Your achievement jar can look however you'd like it to.
I opted for a Nutella Jar and just decorated it with washi tape as you can see on the left.
Nothing fancy. But it's pretty to look at and that motivates me.
So if you like chocolate, decorate your jar or tin in chocolate wrappers or colour it your favourite colour.
I'd go with bright colours though, they catch your eye and remind you that the small things count.
Here's an idea for you if you want to make on.
All you will need is:
A tin or jar: Preferably something with a lid that can come off easily.
Post-it notes or colourful paper: Maybe 4-5 colours so your jar can look like a unicorn's money bank. But if you aren't fond of that then your favourite colour should do just fine.
Plain clear tape or Washi tape: I used both for this and if you want to purchase some Washi Tape, I got mine from Takealot for a fair price.
Colour pens/fineliners/markers
Plain white paper
A Glue Stick
STEP ONE:
Stick/Tape the post-it notes randomly across the jar, including the top of the jar. I used the glue stick to stick the post-it notes and then put the clear tape over to protect the post-it notes. What can I say? I'm extra... extra cautious ;)
STEP TWO:
Apply the washi tape wherever you'd like. I just applied it to the edges so as to cover up what the post-it notes don't. I am very finicky when it comes to these types of things so when I say cover the entire tin in post-it notes, I mean every single inch.
*sigh* Why can't I be this organised when it comes to cleaning my room?
STEP THREE:
Use the marker (whatever colour you'd like) for additional decorations.
I used a black marker to outline the edges of the post-it notes seeing as I placed them randomly.
Then write Achievement Jar if you'd like on a blank piece of paper and tape it to the side of the jar.
Or alternatively, use a marker to write Achievement Jar on your tin/jar.
Again I did both because not only am I extra, I am also indecisive :)
And there you have it.
Your very own Achievement Jar.
For all the lovely things you do.
Here's an idea for your first achievement:
And boy, am I grateful to Allah for that :)

(P.S. Don't forget to sprinkle kindness wherever you go :))
This is such an awesome idea!😍
Thank you so much @maji 😭 I'm so glad you liked this because it makes me want to write more 😭💜 Please show me your jar when it's done ✨ I'd love to see it 🖤
