TheTravellingIntrovert #2

It's been a while since I have posted a new edition of TheTravellingIntrovert and it's about time too. ˋ( ° ▽、° )

My new year started off with an 8-hour drive to Margate, situated on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. So technically it is not in Durban but it's about 100km away.

The weather was rather bizarre but I didn't mind it because I had an excuse to sit and read the books I had brought with :) Hehe.

The books I had brought with were:

  • Empire of Storms by Sarah J.Maas

  • Kingdom Of Ash by Sarah J.Maas

  • Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman

  • Wild Embers by Nikita Gill

  • The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

This was basically my January TBR list because I didn't think I'd read so much but I did and managed to read 4 of them finished, and I'm currently busy with The Alchemist.

I'll talk more about these books in my monthly recap, TheReadersChronicles.

I guess why I read so much was because I had a fantastic view of the ocean.

I mean look at that!!!

And listening to the sound of the waves as well, it was just so relaxing.

I am not much of an ocean person because I've gotten very paranoid over the years but I definitely love looking at it.

(。^▽^)

We didn't go out as much because it was a holiday meant solely for relaxation. We did go out once and that was to The Waffle House which was the best day of my life because of the waffles... duh.

The waffles were soooooo good I could die.

Okay... now I want to go again :( But now I understand why the queue to get into this place is so long. But it was well worth the wait.

Most of the time though, we either chilled at the apartment we were staying in, or we went to the beach. And the weather most of the time called for a day at the beach. That was really refreshing and well, the fear of the ocean slowly went away... I kind off have my sisters to thank for that so shoutout to them o(〃^▽^〃)o

I really enjoyed spending time with my family and just all of us being together and laughing out loud.

The view of the sea was so magical. It brings you peace... unless you're like me thinking if sharks can pass the nets then it's not so peaceful (ಥ _ ಥ)

I'm guessing it was a bad idea to watch shark movies a few days before this trip....

I was also too paranoid to read on the beach because not only was it noisy, the water was pretty unpredictable and reached really far onto the shore. I was not going to risk my books life to read on the beach.

This trip was a good one... I really loved taking pictures and having fun with my family. I really hope we go to other places in South Africa soon... maybe even overseas.

I also got a chance to do some journaling while I was there and I am so happy with the way it turned out (/▽\)

I cannot wait to journal more adventures and to experience more wonders....

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post!!!

Remember to sprinkle kindness wherever you go :)

Hey Holiday Destination neighbour 😁

I generally prefer taking an ereader with me on hoilday...

Lots more book options 😊 and easier to lug around 🤪

But I know it's not everyone's cup of tea 😆
